Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Deep Cleaning Haringey in respect of the financial year ending on 31 March and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.
Deep Cleaning Haringey provides professional cleaning services across Haringey and surrounding areas. We recognise our responsibility to respect and promote human rights and we are committed to operating in a way that is ethical, transparent and consistent with our values.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Deep Cleaning Haringey has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation. We do not accept or condone any practice that undermines the freedom, dignity or wellbeing of any individual working for or with us.
All directors, managers, employees, agency staff and contractors are required to act in accordance with this policy and with all applicable legislation relating to modern slavery. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors and business partners and we reserve the right to terminate relationships with any party that is found to be involved in modern slavery or that fails to take adequate steps to prevent it.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include providers of cleaning materials and equipment, workwear, waste management services, and labour providers. We acknowledge that certain parts of the cleaning and facilities management sector can present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where low-skilled or temporary labour is used.
We are committed to working only with reputable suppliers who share our commitment to eliminating modern slavery. We aim to build long-term relationships based on transparency, responsible practices and mutual respect.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Deep Cleaning Haringey is enhancing its supplier due diligence processes to identify, assess and mitigate the risks of modern slavery. As part of these processes, we may carry out the following activities:
Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with applicable modern slavery legislation and to demonstrate that they have appropriate policies and procedures in place. Assessing the risk profile of suppliers based on factors such as the type of services or goods provided, the location of operations and the use of subcontracted or temporary labour. Conducting audits or inspections, either directly or through third parties, particularly where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation. Reviewing supplier responses and taking corrective action where practices fall short of our expectations.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to develop and implement improvement plans. If material breaches are not addressed in a timely manner, we will consider ending the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach rests with senior management. Managers involved in procurement, recruitment and contract management are expected to be alert to the risks of modern slavery and to apply our policies consistently in their decision-making.
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery indicators among our staff, particularly those in supervisory or recruitment roles. Training and guidance are being developed to help employees identify potential issues, understand our procedures and know how to report concerns safely.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Deep Cleaning Haringey encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices in our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised with a line manager, a senior manager or via our internal whistleblowing routes.
All reports will be treated seriously and handled as sensitively and confidentially as possible. We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Where appropriate, we will investigate concerns and take prompt corrective action, which may include reporting matters to relevant authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. Over the coming year we will focus on strengthening our supplier assessment processes, improving staff awareness and reviewing our internal controls to ensure they remain effective.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed annually by the management of Deep Cleaning Haringey to assess progress and to identify further actions. Updates will reflect any changes in legislation, guidance or industry best practice, as well as the outcomes of our own monitoring activities.
This statement has been approved by the management of Deep Cleaning Haringey and is issued as a clear affirmation of our commitment to combating modern slavery in all its forms.
